About
Fatz Beachwear was created by Fatima “Fatz” Poblador, who studied Fashion Design and Merchandising at DLS-College of St. Benilde. A trip to Sri Lanka in 2015 sparked the idea for what would later become the brand, after she fell in love with the island lifestyle and slower pace of life by the sea. The following year, she launched Fatz Beachwear in Boracay, choosing island life and pursuing her dream of creating clothing inspired by travel, femininity, and the feeling of endless summer.
Over the years, Fatz Beachwear found its way into island boutiques across the Philippines, becoming known for pieces designed for both relaxed beach days and dressed-up evenings. Since relocating to El Nido, Palawan in 2019, the brand has continued to be carried in a select number of boutiques around the island.
All Fatz Beachwear pieces are ethically made in the Philippines, with fabrics carefully sourced from across Southeast Asia. Each design is produced only in limited quantities as part of the brand’s commitment to slow fashion.
Like many small businesses, the pandemic brought challenges and slowed the creative process. It also provided time to reflect, reset, and think about what the future of the brand could become.
Now entering a new chapter, Fatz Beachwear continues to evolve while staying true to the spirit that inspired it from the beginning. Previously focused exclusively on womenswear, the brand now introduces the Boyfriend Shirt, designed to be worn by men, women, and anyone in between. Together with the launch of Salt & Society collection, this marks the beginning of a more inclusive direction for the brand.
